• Virginia Contractor's Law Manual, 2nd Edition ISBN 1-4277-5916-2  This manual contains specific laws and regulations referenced on the Virginia exam section.

• Business and Law Practice Exam ISBN 1-4195-3509-9  A 100 question exam that explores your knowledge of the content areas covered on the actual exam.  Includes an explanation of the answers and test taking tips.  Recently revised to explore the accounting area.

•  2003 International Residential Code  The manual details the mandatory provisions that regulate the actual construction of a 1 and 2 family dwelling.  This includes specifics such as fastener schedules, girder spans, ceiling height, room sizes, and all other elements of construction.  The manual is 1,000 pages and we will focus on the content areas pertinent to the exam.

• Carpentry and Building Construction, 6th Ed by John Louis Feirer This manual is a valuable reference for a residential contracting business.  It covers the topics which are more general to the construction and not covered in the Code.  The content areas of the exam are explored which includes building layout, plan reading, foundations, framing, roof materials, interiors and more. 

• Virginia Safety has been specifically developed for the exam.  It is extensively indexed and contains selections of the  Virginia and Federal OSHA regulations, underground utilities  particulars on excavating and grading.

• BLD Sample Questions  contains questions and answers specific to the exam providing a good review of comprehension and the location of content in the references.
